I felt like preparing a nice and heavy breakfast for my girls today. Their favorite is either Fried Bee Hoon or Fried Rice. Since we do not have left over rice from last night, I go for Bee Hoon.
All you need are…Bee Hoon (soak till soft), minced Garlic, sliced Onion, some Veggie, Fishballs or mince Meat, Dark Soy Sauce, Oil , Pepper and Salt.
Firstly you throw in the garlic after a few seconds add in the onion, fry till aroma then add in the fishballs or mince Meat. Add in water like 2 cups plus dark soy sauce, salt and some pepper then veggie. Wait till it boils then add in the Bee Hoon. Stir it until the water is dried up.
You are done. Garnish with some Fried Shallot to add more aroma to it.
My girls asked for 2nd serving!
Unfortunately, the fishball has turned sourish. I guess it has expired! Yikes!

Belacan Fried Rice is one of my favorite Fried Rice. If I eat out, it would cost me RM4.00 per plate. So today I decided to fry my own Nasi Goreng Belacan.

The ingredient is simple:
Shallots
Anchovies
Belacan
Bird Eye Chili (Cili Padi)

Must pound, cannot blend. If you blend, it will be too fine and when frying the aroma won’t be strong/nice.
Fry a tablespoon of mince garlic the add the above pounded ingredient. Fry till the Belacan aroma cucuk your lubang hidung (comes up).

Then add whaveter topping that you like. As for me, I only have carrot, eggs and crab sticks in my fridge. So that’s all I used.
I start with carrots, then salt to taste follow by eggs. Once the egg is fried, I add the crab sticks. Stir it a while then add the rice. Mix it well, add in a dash of dark soy sauce.
You are done.
Serve with fried shallots and sprinkle some pepper.
Best eaten with more slice chili padi in light soy sauce.
That’s our dinner today.

Yes! You can get your whole house smell of muffins in 30 minutes time. 15 minutes to prepare and 15 minutes to bake. The simplest muffins recipe that I ever came across.

Basic Muffin Recipe
2 cups Self-Raising Flour
1 teaspoon Baking Powder
2/3 cup Brown Sugar
1/2 cup White Sugar (grind till powdery)
Sift the above and put it in a container/bowl for later use.

1 large Egg (slightly beaten)
1 cup Yoghurt (i usually use one small container of the plain yoghurt bought from the supermarket=140g)
125g Butter (melted-i steam to melt it)
1/2 cup Low Fat Milk
1 teaspoon Vanilla essence
Mix the above until creamy

Pour the above into the dry ingredients.

Mix it SLOWLY and GENTLY. Fold it; Don’t whack!
It will be a bit lumpy. That’s all right. If it is watery, it’s alright too. After it has sit for a while it will become thicker.

Mix in 1 cup choc chip / fruit / nuts (optional). If you want chocolate muffins, add 1/4 cup cocoa powder. If the batter is a lil bit sticky and dry, adjust it by adding in lil bit milk.

Place the batter into the muffins paper casing till 3/4 full.

Bake at 190′C for 20 minutes or till brownish. Makes around 12-18 muffins depending on the size of the casing.

Happy Baking!

This is what my maid did to the anchovies that she uses to boil soup.
As not to waste the anchovies; normally we will just give it to the chicken, she deep fried the anchovies and set it aside.
Fry some sliced onion and slice chilli then put in the anchovies. Add the Dark Soy Sauce and some sugar; it’s done.
It smell nice and taste nice too. Try it, then you will know.
“Mommy, when are you going to have a birthday party for me?”
That is the question my girls will ask every time I told them that so and so birthday is today or tomorrow even though their birthday was 2 months ago. I guess this is because I never have any birthday party for them before. When their birthday arrives, we will just buy a cake and sing birthday song. That’s all.

Egg Mayonnaise Sandwich is nutritious, easy and simple to prepare. This is my version of the simplest Egg Mayo Sandwich. All you need is hard boil egg, mayonnaise, salt, pepper, sugar and bread. Some will add cheese spread and mustard to their Egg Mayo Sandwich like what OrganicSamm did. But as for me, I don’t like mustard and cheese spread is way too rich for this already rich in protein sandwich.

Hard boiled Eggs

Get your children to help you mash the eggs. They would really enjoy this but you have to be there for mess control! haha

Add a few spoons of mayonnaise, a sprinkle of salt, pepper and sugar.

Nah! This is how an Egg Mayo looks like. Looks yucky right? But it sure taste yummy and creamy.

Just spread them on a slice of bread and enjoy this simple and quick fixed breakfast; Egg Mayo Sandwich.
I love coffee if not because of the caffeine in it. I love the rich coffee aroma. When I was working, each time my colleague drinks coffee, I will stop my work to inhale and inhale the coffee aroma! Yes, I am crazy. That show how much I love coffee.
I even have a coffee maker in my room; given to me as my wedding gift by one of our close friends. It has been sitting in my cupboard for 7 years now; untouched. I wanted to give it away but I am still hoping that my body would allow me to drink this heavenly drink one day.
One day, I really cannot stand the temptation and make myself a cup of coffee. Within minutes, I start to feel giddy, perspire, and nauseous. That’s effect of caffeine to me. No more coffee for me since then.
If you are a coffee lover then you would know that brewing coffee by the cup is the only way to get the best out of your gourmet coffee. If you have not got yourself a coffee maker, you should consider Keurig One-Cup Coffee Makers. Brewing with Keurig coffee maker only takes 30 seconds. If you buy now, they are offering free Keurig coffee, free shipping and of course enjoy their low prices.

That is the balance of the beef from this batch. Since I don’t have fresh milk with me and I got a bottle of Black Pepper Sauce, I just use that.
Pan fry the beef then heat up the Black Pepper Sauce. Steam some baby carrots and wahlah! I got me self a Black Pepper Steak for dinner. =)

40 Days Banana is a direct translation from Pisang 40 Hari. Some calls it Pisang Masak 40 Hari. It is called Pisang 40 Hari or Pisang Masak 40 hari because it takes 40 days for the banana to turn yellow (ripe).
I don’t think you can find this type of banana selling at any fruit stall. They are not commercialized. They are smaller than Pisang Emas. Their skin are hard to peel. The inside (the white strips) always got stuck to the flesh but it taste nice, very sweet and smooth.
