Not Just Any Fried Anchovies

This is what my maid did to the anchovies that she uses to boil soup.

As not to waste the anchovies; normally we will just give it to the chicken, she deep fried the anchovies and set it aside.

Fry some sliced onion and slice chilli then put in the anchovies. Add the Dark Soy Sauce and some sugar; it’s done.

It smell nice and taste nice too. Try it, then you will know. :D

Sambal Belacan

My favourite food is Sambal Belacan. The typical Nyonya food or shall I say…appetizer. :)

It is very easy to prepare. You just need some Belacan (Shrimp Paste), Fresh Chili & Shallot. Firstly, you got to fry the Belacan till it dries up and become powdery form. Then you pound it with the chili and shallot. If you want it extra hot, add in some bird eyes chili.

I grew up eating the above food. Rice, Sambal Belacan, Salted Fish and some vege, sometime, no vege. The truth ah…it is not healthy to eat this way. Not nutricious but delicious. That is why I was so skinny when I was young. :P
