I love baking muffins and the best way to enjoy the muffins is with a cup of tea or coffee. I love the aroma of coffee but unfortunately my body responds negatively to caffeine. I will perspire, feel nauseous, giddy and I can feel the heat in my throat. But I really love the aroma; it really makes me alive especially when I am sleepy in the office and my colleague prepares a cup of it, the aroma itself will make me awake.

I love coffee if not because of the caffeine in it. I love the rich coffee aroma. When I was working, each time my colleague drinks coffee, I will stop my work to inhale and inhale the coffee aroma! Yes, I am crazy. That show how much I love coffee.
I even have a coffee maker in my room; given to me as my wedding gift by one of our close friends. It has been sitting in my cupboard for 7 years now; untouched. I wanted to give it away but I am still hoping that my body would allow me to drink this heavenly drink one day.
One day, I really cannot stand the temptation and make myself a cup of coffee. Within minutes, I start to feel giddy, perspire, and nauseous. That’s effect of caffeine to me. No more coffee for me since then.

If you live nearby Klebang Besar then you would know of a small stall that sells Coconut Shake. The stall is right before Caltex, on the right hand side if you were to come from Malacca town.
I passed the place many times but always forget to stop by to have a taste of their famous Coconut Shake. Since I am not working today and the weather is extremely hot and my girls has been hitting their brother for disturbing them play. I took him away from them and head to the stall.

Here’s a picture of my 2nd girl enjoying her Coconut Shake with Vanilla Ice Cream. It’s ice blended coconut water with the coconut flesh and vanilla ice cream. Yummy and creamy.
If they serve this drink in San Diego wine bars, I am sure it will make them more unique than any other bars. Maybe the bartender could add a dash of wine to it and give it some Ummph!
Sometimes, I like to keep my mouth busy while watching a movie or TV show. That day, I have my Aloe Vera and Longan drink to munch while I watch Heroes. Did you follow the series? Our local TV here is kind of slow so hubby downloads the whole series from the internet. I have completed Season 1 and now waiting for Season 2 to finish downloading.
When watching Heroes Season 1, there is this guy by the name of George Lindemann. He is an art collector and also has a very special gift; he is one of the Heroes too. He has the healing gift and in one of the episodes, he heals Petrelli’s wife who is lame.
I wonder whether in Season 2, George Lindemann Jr and George Lindemann Jr art advisor will appear because George Lindemann Sr died in Season 1. I hope Season 2 is going to be more interesting.

This is my first try and it turn out GOOD!
Here’s the ingredient:

Aloe vera flesh cut into small cubes, Dried Longan, Rock Sugar and Water.

Cook the Dried Longan till it turn soft then add the Rock Sugar. Once all the Rock Sugar diluted, add in the Aloe Vera cubes and bring to boil.
That’s it, you are done. Simple eh.
Drink it warm or with ice.
Since Aloe Vera has many benefits, this is a great way of consuming it.
Oh ya, Aloe Vera is a NO to pregnant woman. It may cause cramps, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and uterine contractions. It also should be avoided during breast feeding, because it can be passed on to the infant during breast feeding and cause complications for the newborn.
I love drinking the Honey Sea Coconut drink especially on a hot day. It is very cooling. Sometimes I would buy the Honey Sea Coconut in can, mix it with water and ice and drink. 2 years ago, someone taught my youngest sister how to make her own Honey Sea Coconut and it is way much cheaper than buying the ones in the can. Every since then, I never buy anymore Honey Sea Coconut and I can have as much of the sea coconut in my drink to chew. I even made the drink to sell during fund raising food fair. Very profitable too. ![]()
Here’s the recipe:
Fresh Sea Coconut - I buy them from the Central Market, peeled.
Dried Longans - You can buy them from the Chinese Medicine Shop.
Pure Honey
Gula Melaka (Palm Sugar)
Method:
Peel clean the fresh sea coconut and sliced them thinly.
Put everything in a big pot, add water and simmer it using slow fire until it thickens.
Cool it down.
Transfer them into a container and keep it chill in the refrigerator.
When you want to enjoy your Honey Sea Coconut drink, scoop some of it, add cold water and drink away! ![]()
